A fond remembrance of Su Connell

“You defy death by celebrating life.”

Grace Draven

Today I will choose to celebrate a life well lived.  It is with sadness that I learned of the passing of Ms. Su Connell.  I offer a very heartfelt remembrance.  In many respects she was Payson’s own role model.  Kind, caring and all that is good.

I first met Su Connell in 2004.  Su at the time was working with Rim Country Literacy and I was on the Board for Payson Community Kids.  I knew we shared the same love for people as well as our community.  I have always admired her.  She has shown compassion, strength, courage and a willingness to take a stand even when it did not make her popular.  Su always stood for what she believed.  Payson will not be the same without it’s Ms. Su Connell and for those of us that knew her; we will always remember her and the love she had for the Town of Payson.

It is by her example that we all can choose to defy death and celebrate Su’s life.

Thank you Su.

My deepest sympathies to Stan and all of her family.
