Gila County Elections has confirmed. I have been elected to be on the Town of Payson Town Council.
The past few months have been a whirlwind of excitement for me. Everyday, I have met with citizens, business people and various groups listening to concerns for Payson’s future. Many of you have called, emailed, texted or posted to my Facebook page with the encouragement that kept me going during this time of what seemed to a long, very long, process.
On Election Day, I met with countless individuals that continued to give me their support; this kept me going throughout the night. That evening as the first numbers came in I could not believe how many of you support and believe in me! I am so thankful as I have heard over and over that a “write-in candidate” is the hardest thing to do! Well if it were not for YOUR encouragement, YOUR support and most importantly YOUR vote this would not have been possible!
I have learned that not everyone in our little town knew me and what I stand for prior to this campaign. Many of you supported the effort to get the word out and this huge accomplishment would not be possible without you! I am so excited to represent you: The citizens of Payson. I humbly thank you from the bottom of my heart.
A special thanks to the folks who worked and made sacrifices on my campaign, first my husband for all of his support and putting up with my minute by minute schedule changes, my parents, children and siblings for cheering me on as far as South Korea. My campaign committee working sometimes day and night to get the job done and for lifting me up along the way: YOU ROCK! All of you gave unselfishly your time, energy and support. To the financial donors, your funding was essential in the advertising that was critical with keeping the write-in candidacy in the news and in the community view. This also would not be possible without you! To all the people who made any sort of sacrifice large or small I thank you! The individuals that have worked behind the scenes making things happen, the outcome is what we were looking for. This would not be possible without you.
Looking to the future of YOUR town government I am very optimistic that we can all work together to make Payson be the best it possibly can be and represent all of the citizens! I promise you accessibility, honesty, fairness and transparency as we move forward. I am excited for this new journey that lies ahead for all of us in this amazing community!
I encourage you not to forget why you voted for me; and to stay involved in any way possible. Please attend the Council meetings and always make your voice be heard. Town government works for you the people of Payson and you should be heard. Let us move forward with a fresh new beginning and make great things happen in our town together!

Why a “Write in Candidate?”
Simple, the time is now to make an impact on the local race and change the political environment for the better.
The recent election and the rancor that surrounded it was appalling. Not the best that Payson has to offer. Our community can grow best by coming together. The current choices on the ballot appear all too willing to continue to divide our community. It is time for a voice of reason, compassion and resolve.
Resolve to do what is best for the Town of Payson as only a lifelong resident can provide. True, my name does not appear on the ballot. But that will just make the victory that much sweeter.
